Jingle Coughs, Jingle Coughs...

As we turn the corner toward Christmas, an illness has struck the Rau household. Really it's just a cold, but it has led us to sequester ourselves for four days last week and now we are sequestered again because poor little Julian got it. It's looking like we are on the upside of the cold, and really, we shouldn't complain, the boys haven't been sick in a long while.

Otherwise, little Julian is starting to show more spunk. That little guy is a big observer - sits quietly and watches when we're in big crowds, but the instant you set him down, he manages to maneuver 6 inches in order to PRESS A BUTTON on one of vincent's new toys. I mean, it's not like this button is really easy to get to, it is a red button on a side panel!! He's also loving his little bouncer and does plenty of laps around his little table. He now had rice, apples, sweet potatoes, and bananas under his belt - he should be ready for a banana split for his half birthday ;)

Vincent's hilarious these days - well, other than his miserable trudge through this illness. He has an incredible memory for all of the books that we get from the library and fortunately, as I am in the throes of Christmas Craft time, he's really enjoying doing projects - at least for a few minutes. He was extremely excited to help me out in picking out what cookie cutters we will use for our sugar cookies this year ; ) He is, as always, super energetic but he seems to have longer attention spans now and really enjoys playing with his cars. The funniest thing he's been doing lately is asking us if we are happy while we are in the middle of telling him to stop whatever he is doing. Example: He is chasing Haley out of her bed, so we tell him to stop and leave her alone, so then he asks us if we are happy. So we usually say we would be happy if would stop doing what he's doing. It's actually kinda hard to keep a straight face when he does it. Silly boy ;)

Oh and we tried out a soccer practice. Let's just say that what this boy needs is membership on a track team. Right now, the concept of waiting in line to kick a ball is just preposterous to him ; )
