Julian is still a great baby. Sadly, his love affair with the pacifier seems to be ending, but it comes on the cusp of him being able to go to sleep on his own when swaddled. He's a trooper and actually seems to enjoy being out and about, save for tonight's sushi debacle. He's smiling more and more and seems to enjoy ceiling fans, baths, and good gulps of nai nai ;)
As for V, he's still a great toddler...He's taken us on a bit of a roller coaster ride these days. The highlights are some of the hilarious phrases he's using, like "don't worry, Dadu. No problem", "Look..." (while holding up something he's willing to barter for whatever it is we are trying to get from him", and "I want to smash it", "I am throwing things" or "I want to throw things", "I want to hit ______". He's singing the Cars Sha-boom song and The Lion Sleeps Tonight, and sneaks in some nursery rhymes whenever there's dead air .... which leads us into a description of our current lows, including way too much hitting and a general angst-ridden attitude about anything that doesn't go his way. Thankfully, after deciding to buckle down on him this weekend, he is doing much better in this department and is learning to express his feelings in a better way. But, we will only really know after his fifth day of preschool, which will be tomorrow. The first day, he was crying by 10:30, the second he was fine, the third I got there late to pick him up and was crying (5 min late), and the fourth was pretty all around bad - crying before, during, after intermingled with, what appears to be, acting like a little bully. Sigh, and double sigh. I'm not sure that the fact that he really is in the 95th percentile in height and weight helps matters much, either. He is like a full hand bigger than most of the kids in his class!!
Anyway, the weather is shaping up and we have been able to spend time outside, which is AWESOME!! I'll try to capture some pics of V playing with his Buzz Lightyear rocket/sprinkler. Until then, we got the chance to go to the beach for Labor Day...
