Anyone ever seen "House"?
Well, there's a reason why we haven't updated the site for a while. Long story short, we've been at Texas Children's for the past couple of days (centuries) and now are looking at staying here for 5-7 more days. It turns out our little guy has an infection. Luckily, they started treating it the minute we came into the ER and he's already acting normal, but they just have to finish out the course of antibiotics. We have yet to find out how he got the UTI - they will be doing some renal scans, etc etc. Our poor little guy have been put through the rigner and through it all he's been extremely sweet and cooperative. We just feel lucky to have been at the right place at the right time. It has seriously been like an episode of "House" where we were convinced that all the little guy needed when we went into the ER was an IV because his diaper count wasn't matching up (not getting enough food) and in the end, after a ton of testing and waiting for cultures, he actually had an infection!! We almost walked out of the ER with him, but then they were concerned about his body temp. Then, in the exam room his heart rate dropped to 60. Anyway, the good thing is that he's doing well, feeding well, and being as cute as ever. We've been able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House just down the hall from him, so we can see him anytime. The one thing I'll say is that this has been one of the most humbling experiences we've ever had and we just apologize ahead of time for spoiling our child like nothing else from now on :)
