So, after all of the testing, it turns out our little guy is perfectly fine - Vincent just got a UTI and has to finish up his round of antibiotics. Since he's so young, they can't give them orally. We don't know how he got the UTI, but at least they are telling us that this doesn't mean he is necessarily susceptible to them. He had a little jaundice and was under-eating and before you know it he ended up showing off in the ER just in time for them to catch the infection. With infants, they don't really have the immunity to fight off these types of infections, so it's good we caught it early. Fortunately, he was able to recover in hours. The treatment could have been a 10 or 14 day course, but we caught it early enough to only require the 7 days. We can't wait to get the little guy back home on Saturday.
He's already showing us his true personality - he's got attitude like you wouldn't believe. He's going to be a handful - full of nice little surprises for Momma and Daddy!! We'll update the blog with photos as soon as we can - his cheeks are ballooning out and he keeps gaining weight like a little banshee.
PS. We WILL be volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House in the future - they were awesome!!!
