One more month to go!!

It is hard to believe it is almost time for our little guy to turn one! But, he sure is showing us how much he has changed!! For starters, he no longer fits into the little V-I-N-C-E-N-T pictures...I think next month will be his last set. He's being very defiant about wanting to sleep with us (a bad nightly struggle) and he constantly shows us he has no fear. We went to one of those splash parks and he was having a great time chasing the water jets that were coming out of the ground. He was having such a great time he decided to take a swim!! Needless to say, we are hoping to sign him up for an infant swim course so that he can learn to float and tread water before it is too late. One of his favorite pastimes is dipping his hands into Haley's water and also dipping his face into his bath water...yeah, I think the kid likes water. He also loves to play his keyboard, recorder and whistle, so he loves to make noise - of any kind. In fact, his favorite noise is the one he makes when he sucks in his breath. It's actually really funny and hard to imitate ; ) Lately, we've been watching some wonderful Chinese DVD's. The word of the day last Wednesday was chiang - the word for elephant ; ) I filled out several of his word books with Chinese and Spanish translations so he should be thoroughly confused by the time he decides to talk for real ; ) Anyway, planning has begun for his first birthday cake - it should be a lot of fun and we'll be sure to post pictures when he gets to go after it ; )
